Senior Software Engineer & Architect

Hello, I’m Jose Suarez — a Senior Software Engineer and Architect with 25+ years building and shipping production systems across every layer of the stack, from database to UI. I work end-to-end in TypeScript / Node, Angular and React, deployed on AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, Cognito), with a reliability-first focus on backend services, APIs, integration and scale.

My recent work is on regulated, mission-critical healthcare platforms handling special-category patient data under EU GDPR — owning delivery across backend, web, mobile and serverless, and integrating regulated providers and third-party APIs. I lead and mentor engineering teams while staying hands-on in code, architecture and reviews.

I’m deep into AI-augmented development — using AI tooling and LLM-API integration as a genuine multiplier for design, delivery and quality — and I write about software engineering on my blog. What I do best is owning an ambiguous problem end-to-end and getting it reliably into production.
